Life Cycle - Track Your Time App yorumlar

Hello?

I have loved this app - but there hasn’t been a significant update in many years. I’d consider cancelling my membership next year if nothing changes. Give us widgets, integration with screen time. Functionality to track individual work tasks etc.

Life Changing

All we are is a data. Your decisions, your actions, they’re all some measure of time. This app gives you control over your time.

One of the most useful apps I’ve tried — but now totally broken, and no way to get help.

I originally tried Life Cycle on a trial basis and thought it was pretty awesome. It helped me see where my time was going and whether it was aligned with my priorities. The way it passively tracked time and showed trends gave me that big-picture “forest through the trees” insight into my daily routines. I didn’t mind the constant tracking — I’m not a criminal, and the privacy policy seemed reasonable for a short trial. That said, the issues started after I paid for a subscription. Instead of unlocking features, the app removed features I had access to during the trial. I assumed it was a sync or delay issue, so I gave it time. After all, this is designed to be a background app — something you forget about until you want to reflect. That’s what I did. But now, months later, I’ve confirmed it’s still not working. My Apple App Store subscription clearly shows I’ve paid and am current through 2026, but the Life Cycle app itself insists my subscription expired in 2024. I’ve tried using the “Restore Purchase” button — it says it worked, but nothing changes. Features are still locked. The app continues to behave as though I never subscribed. The final straw? I tried to contact the developer for support, and their website redirects to an error page. There is literally no way to reach them. I’m a paying customer with a broken app and no support options. If I could give zero stars, I would. Apple — if you’re reading this, developers on your platform should be required to offer support if they’re charging subscription fees. This developer is not complying, and your users deserve better accountability.

Lost all my info

Been using for years and logged on the other day and all my info is gone. Boooo!! Unreliable

I like, but wish there was a way to correct it

I enjoy this app, BUT, there is no way to correct where it thinks I am and what I am doing there- which is insanely frustrating. I work in retail and it thinks I shop 40 hours a weeks. Their customer service page doesn’t work either so there is no way to get any support. Which is very frustrating. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Missing a few key features

The basic functionality of this app behaves as expected, and the privacy and export features are great. Two features that would make this a 5-star app: 1. The ability to edit location activities in bulk. It is unavoidable that this app often records my location as the museum next to my office (associated activity: visit museum), but it's infuriating that I can't change the activity associated with a location in bulk. For a given location, I should be able to set all instances of one activity to a different activity. (Work used to be school, so it would be nice if I only had to change the "visit museum" activity at the associated location to "work", rather then all activities at the associated location). 2. Sometimes you end up having two different activities at the same location. The app seems to arbitrarily decide which of those activities to attribute to that location going forward. It really needs the ability to set a default automatic activity. These two features would basically change the recordkeeping value of this app from "not accurate at all", to "usually pretty accurate"

Unable to view locations

Right now it says I’ve been to a million places in the last year but since I haven’t labeled every single one there’s no way to visualize them. I would love to see them on a map with time stamps on each. Who cares about the label?

App great. Support poor.

App is fantastic. Truly not a battery drain and amazing to keep a running log 24/7 without having to do anything. Online backup has not worked in over a year. Support has been unresponsive. I’m getting a replacement iPhone and will lose a ton of data if I can’t find a valid work-around backup. I recommend the app. I do NOT recommend subscribing to online backup, at least not until support improves.

Apparently Developed for Those Going to Different Locations

This app is apparently designed to track moving to various locations, noting purpose and time spent at them. When I’m home do different things everything must be added manually with the result that it will show me the same information I already get by using another app I have been using. The other app tracks my time when I simply click on an event or task. In addition, there appears to no way to change or delete the names of events.

Almost exactly what I want

I love everything that’s already there in this app, it’s just missing a huge opportunity. I spend most of my time at home, and a lot of that on my phone or computer. It would be really helpful to be able to sync up iOS screen time data with my donuts. Currently I find it interesting to see where I spend my time physically, but it just doesn’t give me the full view of my habits since so much of it is online. If it had this function I’d probably shell out for premium.

A great tracker

Simply put Life Cycle tracks everything you do and everywhere you do it. It’s pretty accurate, but it allows you to go in and override any entry which I love and then it learns oh this place is where you usually have a business meeting … probably machine learning, but that’s what it’s supposed to do. I can also see kind of months I’ve had in an even compare years. Well worth downloading and using.

Tracker

Love the app. I’ve been using it for several years. I especially like that important events like appointments or visiting someone in the hospital or going out to dinner are recorded. I’m am my households keeper of events big and small.

Export

How do I export locations?

The best

I use this app to track how long I’m with a patient, as I bill by the hour. It also keeps track of my commute times. I’ve used this app for the better part of a decade, and love it!

Love this app!!!

In my occupation, I need to keep track of where I am and what I am doing for billing purposes. This app is invaluable for those times when I forget to notate it by other means.

Need improvements!

Please look for Rond: Life in Timeline app and see how amazing their app is! You should take notes from them and improve your app! We need a time line page same as Rond app! We need a life time purchase option! The statistics page need an improvement and a whole revamped! The whole app needs a fresh look!

It tracks everything

It helps me track all my habits and places I’ve been so I can draw patterns and optimize my life

Perfect for Tracking Time—and Having an Alibi!

Life Cycle is an awesome app for tracking where you’ve been and how you spend your time. Great for ADHD brains trying to piece together last Tuesday—or for having an airtight alibi if you’re ever accused of a crime. Just wish they offered a free trial for premium so more people could see how useful it is!

So Fun!

It’s really eye opening to see where you go in a day/week. And also how often you just sit around at home 😅 I love this app; and would give 5stars, except this is the second time I have had it. The first time I had it for two years before it suddenly stopped working and I had to uninstall 😭 Now it’s been several years since then; so fingers crossed it stays up!

The most useful free app in existence

I cannot believe it is free. Even if you don’t feel like you need to track your time regularly, just being able to look back and see exactly when and how long you were at a location, and have all that information available to you at any time automatically, is extremely and surprisingly useful.

Hey, they fixed it!

I had come here to say that I was deleting the app because there was a sudden glitch saying I wasn’t subscribed to the premier level and they haven’t updated the app in years. Lo and behold I come here and see they’ve fixed the glitch! Carry on!

Used to be fantastic, hasn’t been updated in 2+ years

Jan 27 2024 update: Finally heard back from support, they say they are aware of the issue and looking into it. Not getting my hopes up yet, but at least glad they got the message and responded. :( Used to be amazing. Now it won’t let me restore my premium purchase, even though it charged me less than a month ago for the annual subscription renewal. It stopped backing up on Jan 14. I no longer have any premium features — I can’t access the data breakdowns or backup my info. Emailing support is useless, they don’t respond.

Buggy

I live this app and have used it for years. But it’s very buggy now and my premium subscription is no longer working even though I’m paying for it. Very sad.

I paid but no premium

Days later, no help. I PAID!! The app hasn’t even been updated in two years so why did it remove my premium status?? HELP!! I was charged on January 3 for premium and it was literally working yesterday and now it will not work no matter how I try. I cannot figure out any way to contact anybody.

Subscription Theft!

I have been a subscriber for years. They recently increased their cost to $29 a year. Not only did they not keep me locked in at that pricing, my subscription I already paid for should be good until June 28, 2025. So now I would have to subscribe twice in a year. Poor management of this cost increase and unfair to your faithful subscribers and early adopters.

Premium access denied mid subscription

Have been a happy user for several years until now. My premium access stopped working in the middle of my subscription. Since the App hasn’t been updated in over 2 years, it doesn’t appear to be supported any longer. The link for App support goes to a broken website. I did get a response to an email from a different website with a different developer name but it was only an auto reply and no other answers in 3 days. I don’t recommend further purchases. The lack of support has been reported to Apple. The program was working up to last week. I use it daily but the Premium is now listed as $29.99 annual instead of the $9.99 I paid to Apple. I have a month left on my previous purchase but there is no tech support or updates.

Bait and switch

I’ve been using this app for 2.5 years using premium features that were guaranteed to be free for me since I was an early adopter of the app. Suddenly, my premium access seems to have been revoked. I’m logged in correctly, have tried restoring my purchase and logging out and back in again, but nothing seems to fix this. I tried to contact the developers through their website but their webpage kept showing a “critical error” and malfunctioning. I’m hoping they see this review, as this app is something I check daily and without the premium features that I was so enjoying I fear it won’t be useful to me anymore. It also feels very disingenuous to revoke premium permissions after making such a point to guarantee them as a thank you for their early adopters.

Not Getting What I Paid For

I really wanted to love this app, but I’m having some serious problems with it. I paid for the premium version, but when I try to look at the premium features, it shows that they are still locked behind a paywall. I tried to contact the devs for assistance, but when I follow their contact link, it says there is a critical error on their site. I feel like I’ve been scammed.

Life Cycle

This app is very good application

Disappointed

This was a stellar app, but it’s been a few years since last updated. I cancelled my subscription a while back because of buggy performance and the lack of ongoing development. It’s disappointing to come back over a year after canceling and see that the app hasn’t been updated at all. I’ve been a premium user of the dev’s other app, Sleep Cycle, for over a decade, and they seem to have maintained and improved the app with frequent and consistent updates. I’m a fan of the developer and their products, but can’t justify paying a perpetual subscription to use an app that is no longer perpetually maintained or improved.

Getting Stale

The app still works in its entirety but the team is slow to add new features and adopt iOS platform integrations. For $10 a year I consider it a good price but I wouldn’t choose this as my app if I were starting now as it seems to be abandoned. I’d like to be able to export locations with time duration and coordinates, not just name and date. Overall it’s good and was revolutionary when it came out, but is getting stale the longer it’s ignored.

Simple and effective

I’ve been using this app for 4 years. Absolutely love it. It rarely needs corrections and the longer you use it the less of those. I am not overly confident on the sleep tracking but everything is solid.

Premium since 2017….

I paid my $30 each year and now I need to restore it only allows a backup from 3 years previous. No support options. Read other reviews, this is clearly now just a scam.

Wasted money on annual subscription

I just realized I was paying $29.00/year for nothing. I went to use some additional paid features and it says I am only on the free version. I already paid the fee as it’s in my Apple account. There is no way to contact customer support to take care of a refund.

BEWARE! You can lose $$ with no recourse to get it back!!

This app Does Not Work for me. For days it’s been stuck at Analyzing and what’s worse, they take your money and will not refund! I’ve requested a refund twice and it’s been denied with no other option to talk to anyone! Absolutely horrible experience with this app!

Desperately need to access data

App won’t show my data by location. Support page doesn’t exist. Export data doesn’t work. I use this app for invoice and can’t se data because it says I have to upgrade but when I try it says I already have subscription. Fix this. I’m losing money

8-Year User on Life Cycle

I’ve been using Lifecycle for 8 years now, and I can’t tell you how much this app has helped me in my life. It’s truly one of the most treasured apps I have on my phone, simply because it keeps so many memories, places, and activities all in one succinct place. I can go back and see exactly what I was doing on any given day. One thing I love about having the app for eight years is that it has barely changed, which is sometimes not always a good thing, but in this case, I think it has been great. I appreciate the consistency and functionality of Lifecycle. It’s already so well designed that it doesn’t need much improvement. Having had it for eight years now, I do have a few suggestions for how it could be even better. The app excels at collecting time signatures for places I visit automatically, which is fantastic. It also lets me add notes for each time slot, and I can see those notes delivered in weekly, monthly, or yearly summaries, which is very helpful. But I wish there were a more detailed view, perhaps a list or weekly calendar format I could swipe through, showing the activities I’ve done over my days in a week. Still keep the daily and weekly donuts but It would be really interesting to see a chronological breakdown of my activities in a list form over the day to see when I started my days vs when I ended them and what I actually spent time doing overlayed on what I planned to do etc. More importantly, I think it would be great if there was a simple timer feature for tracking time. For example, if I’m working on something while at home, Lifecycle doesn’t track that unless I add an event afterward. It would be nice to have a quick ‘+’ button that opens a timer, letting me track tasks in real time. When the task is complete, I could then label it, and it would integrate into my daily timeline seamlessly as opposed to remembering when I started an activity, paused, and or finished one after the fact. Another helpful addition would be a more detailed note-taking section where I could go through each event side by side that had notes and filter these notes on specific places or events, I am able to do this in a data export which is great but in app functionality for it would be fantastic. This could also be integrated with apple calendar, reminders or notes app, or other planning tools for even better insights into how my planned activities match my actual activities. All in all, Lifecycle has been an amazing app, and it’s incredible as it stands. I just feel that with a few minor tweaks, like adding a timer function and a more detailed breakdown of activities, it could become an even more powerful tool for tracking time and improving productivity. I’d love to see these features implemented while keeping the app as simple and functional as it has always been.

Concerned about the future of this app and its sibling apps

No updates have been made to this app in more than a year and the website for the developer works, but the links to its sub pages all 404. I want to be clear, I love this app. I love what it provides me. I live on the abundance of information that this app provides. But I’m worried. There’s so many low hanging fruit items that this app could have implemented from any of the iOS releases from them last three or four years, but none of them, even the easiest of them, have been done. I think this app is destined for the graveyard and I hate that because I don’t know of any other app that does anything like what this one does.

Just another scam app

I signed up for the trial, and THE NEXT DAY decided it wasn’t for me and canceled my subscription and removed it from my devices. Two days later, I am charged for a full year. C’mon!!! I’m trying to get it refunded but the system for requests is robotic and limited. REFUND MY $30 and maybe don’t try to rip people off before the trial even fully begins?

Needs improvement for retired people

I need to change email address associated with my account, and there no place to do it. I just cancelled the annual subscription instead! Link to support is dead Do not waste your money here! For retirees, it will always say: you tend to spend a lot of time at home on (any day of the week) This is not news to us; please tell me something else!

Love this app!

I can’t say enough good things about this app. I have had the need to go back and find out when I was doing some work in another city. It is great to have a record of the days that I traveled there and the times I spent in certain places. I love that it shows me my daily balance and my weekly and monthly activity.

Not for WFH

It’s a nice idea, but it’s basically useless for people who work from home. There’s no accurate way to automatically detect what i’m doing at home, and documenting every time I switch activities is just not feasible.

Ridiculous

It’s ridiculous that this app is completely unusable without location services.

Flaws

I really like this app but there are a few flaws. For example, I set the location for my current office as interview when I interviewed for the job. Now that I have the job, I cannot adjust that and it records my being at work as an interview. There is no intuitive way to correct this, it’s not addressed in the « help » section in the app, and there is no creator contact info in the app. Right now I am having to change the tag from interview to work every day. If I can’t change it somehow, I won’t be renewing the subscription

Love

I truly love this app! It helps me to see trends in my activities over time and just helps me to have more self awareness about my behavior. Totally recommend!

Privacy nightmare

I can't even open the app without giving it precise, ALWAYS ON location access. To figure out if I'm working at my computer?? Ok let me check the privacy policy.:. Where? Who knows. I can't believe this has so many good reviews. Please make develoers do better people.

Has potential, but missing some key features

The automatic location syncing is a great feature and I love the idea of this app, however, it’s missing some key features that make it a sustainable tool for me long term. 1) time tracking: there should really be an option to click a task and begin a stop-watch. Having to remember when you started and stopped tasks and inputting those manually each time is time consuming! 2) widgets or functionalities with Apple Watch: like above, having an easy way to track things not automatically captured by the app. I work from home and wanted to use this app to see where my time is spent outside of working, but because I’m mostly in one location I have to go in and backlog 75% of the day later on. Having easy accessibility on the watch to add tasks would be great. Especially if you could see it “ticking” on your watch how many minutes you’ve spent on the current activity. Additional feature request: 3) automatically tracking cell phone usage: I would love for it to automatically pull in the phone calls I take or texts I make tied to various contacts! It would be great to see trends of who I am speaking to most frequently. Also if it could pull in social media usage automically- that would be a game changer!

Can’t use it without giving it permission to track you 24/7

I love the idea of this app, and the kinds of charts and data shown in the pictures is exactly what I’m looking for… except you can’t even use this app at all unless you change your phone settings to allow it to use your precise location at all times. It literally won’t even allow you to see the interface without that. Then it just shows a countdown and says it’s “getting to know you.” Still no interface. Maybe it’s worth waiting for, but I’m not willing to give up my privacy to find out. I work from home and don’t go out much, so I don’t see how this would be very helpful anyway. I thought I’d have the option to manually track things as well, but it doesn’t seem like that’s the case. All it does is track exactly where you are 24/7.

Unable to edit activities

I want to change the names of the activities and delete some of the old ones, but that’s no way to do so in the app. Very disappointed.
